Frequently asked questions
Are my files really never uploaded?+
Yes. Every conversion runs inside your browser using WebAssembly and the Canvas API. Your files are never sent to any server — not ours, not anyone's. You can even disconnect from the internet after the page loads and conversions will still work.
Is there a file size limit?+
There is no server-imposed limit because nothing is uploaded. The practical limit is your device's available memory. In practice, files up to several hundred megabytes work without issue on modern hardware.
Which file formats are supported?+
Images: JPEG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, GIF, BMP, TIFF, SVG, HEIC, HEIF. Documents: PDF (compress or export as image), DOCX, ODT. Output formats: JPEG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, PDF.
Why use this instead of an online converter that requires upload?+
Upload-based converters send your file to a third-party server. You have no control over how long they keep it, who can access it, or how it is stored. Local conversion means your files stay on your device at all times — important for contracts, medical documents, personal photos, and any sensitive content.
Does it work offline?+
Once the page has loaded, conversions work fully offline. The processing libraries are downloaded to your browser the first time you visit, and subsequent conversions do not require a network connection.
